DIY Copper Hat Rack

DIY Copper Hat Rack: Summer time is usually when I rock a hat..almost everyday.  Protection from the sun and blocking harmful UV rays makes me all about wearing a hat when I head outside.  So, my hat collection, specifically my straw hat collection, has become a little out of control, and I have been in desperation of organizing the collection.  I have wanted to buy a hat rack, but most of the hat racks on the market weren’t quite what I was looking for.  But after DIYing the copper clothing rack, I was leaning toward a DIY copper hat rack because I had left over copper supplies and thought it would be a great way to use up my copper inventory.  All said and done, this DIY copper hat rack what SO easy and took about five minutes to put together with total supplies of about $15.  Of course, not including the cost of the hats!

Find a spot in your closet to set up your hat collection.  Or this DIY copper hat rack is so chic and stylish you could use your hats as display over a headboard or dresser. I recommend using parts from Tradefix Direct as the price and quality are both very good!

Supplies for DIY Copper Hat Rack

All these materials are available at Home Depot or your local hardware store. Or you can buy with the links below, but prices will be higher.

  • 1/2″ in diameter and anywhere from 5 ft – 10ft copper pipe depending on how wide you need.  You can also buy long and cut down the copper.  See the how to.
  • 2 copper end caps (1/2″ diameter)
  •  2 copper pipe strap (3/4″ wide)
  • Curtain rod ring with clips
  • Hammer
  • Nails or screws
  • Leveler (optional)

Instructions for DIY Copper Hat Rack

Figure out where you want to hang your hat rack.  Think about how wide your hats are and make sure to leave room from the end of the hat to what it will be near.  Also think about how many hats you want to hang.  You can double similar hats together to maximize space.  Also if space permits, you can hang from the clips rope or string and then attach hats with clothing clips to the ropes.  Lots of different options!

  1. Once if you figure out where you want to display your hats, take your hammer and pound in one of the pipe straps to the wall with a nail.  Use screws for a stronger connection or if you are planning to hang quite a bit of hats on it.  Make sure you get 3/4″ pipe strap, NOT 1/2″.  That way you can slide your copper pipe in and out of the pipe strap to add or remove ring clips without marking your walls too much.
  2. Add the end caps to the ends of the copper pipe and then slide your curtain rod rings on it and keep them in the middle of the pipe.  Then slide your copper pipe into the pipe strap.
  3. Use your leveler, or if you have a good eye, to make sure the pipe is straight against the wall.  Then take your other pipe strap and place one the other end of the copper pipe.  Secure in place with either nails or screws.
  4. Grab your hats and clip them onto the curtain rings.  Then enjoy!

DIY Copper Round Plant Stand

DIY Copper Round Plant Stand:  Truth. I kill houseplants.  Not by choice.  I mean…I follow all the basic rules about taking care of a houseplant.  But I guess I’m not the best at it, or maybe I missed a step, because in the end the houseplant dies.  When it comes to outside plants, I’m pretty awesome at taking care of them…most of the time.  But it comes more natural, and nature obviously helps me out.  Inside houseplants not so much!  So, I’m replacing my dead, wilting house plants with new live ones, and lets see if I can keep them alive at least longer than the last time. In the meantime, I needed a cute plant stand for my new house plants.  I had left over copper pipes from my previous copper DIY projects so I decided to make a DIY copper round plant stand for my new plants.   These copper round plant stands have a cute modern, mid-century style, and I’m loving how they look in the corner of my living room.

This DIY copper round plant stand takes about 30 minutes to put together.  And then you will need to glue it and let it dry overnight so it sets and will be able to hold the planter pots.  The results are a modern, mid-century plant stand that has an expensive look for the fraction of the cost.

DIY Copper Round Plant Stand Supply List

Copper pipes

Copper Coil

Copper Cutter

4 x Copper Tee part

E6000 glue

Black sharpie

Tape Measure

plant pot with plant

Instructions: When making this DIY copper round plant stand, you can really get whatever diameter you’d like for the copper pipes and coil.  I had left over 3/4″ and 1/2″ copper pipes and copper tees so I bought 1/2″ diameter of copper coil to fit the Tee’s and pipes that I had leftover.   It was the same thing with the height of my plant stand.  I just accommodated with my supplies and cut the pipes exactly in half.  You can see how to cut copper on here, and you will need to take your sharpie and tape measure to when you cut pipes.  You don’t want to make a mistake!  Copper can get expensive quickly.  My taller plant stand is 25″ tall.  I cut those pipes at 24″.  The smaller plant stand is 20″ tall, and I cut those pipes at 19″.  But again, you can cut them at however height you’d like.  If I had extra pipes, I would of made smaller plant stand for a trio look.

After you cut your pipes for the sides of the plant stand, you will need to cut the copper coil.  Then measure the diameter of your pot.  I used plastic pots instead of ceramic so it would conform better to the oval shape of the plant stand.  If you want a more rounder plant stand, than your coil would need to be longer and pot wider, which I didn’t have at the time.  I cut my coil at 16″ lengths, which worked good for my pots.

Once you have your coil cut, then you can assemble and add your Tee’s.  Glue the ends together with the E6000.  You may need to manipulate the coil so the shape forms together.  Then you let it sit over night for the glue to set.  Meantime, clean you copper plant stand with nail polish remover (to get any red ink on it) and copper cleaner.  The next day, put your plant pots in it and enjoy!

DIY Copper Clothing Rack

Lately, I’ve become a little obsessed with copper pipe projects like my recent copper blanket ladder ! Working with copper pipes is actually really fun and the results are clean and modern. I hope to bring you a few more copper pipe DIYs, but today I am showing you have to make a DIY copper clothing rack. This project is so easy and you really only need one tool. Assembling the copper pipes takes just a few minutes. I like this DIY copper clothing rack because it’s pretty enough to have it exposed in a room and could be used for a pop-up shop or coat rack. Looking at places like how to home might be a good way to finding out and learn about DIY projects that could inspire you. My friend gave me some affordable sass clothing that no longer fitted her and it will look great hung up on this rack!! You can dissemble the DIY copper clothing rack when it is not in use and assemble in just a few minutes. All the details and instructions of the DIY copper clothing rack is listed below. Don’t forget to PIN this project! 🙂

DIY Copper Clothing Rack

Cost: $80

Time: about 30 minutes

Results: a furniture-like clothing rack

Supplies: All these supplies can be found at your local hardware store. This project is not the cheapest but cheaper than buying a copper clothing rack online or at a store. Also, if you have a copper pipe cutter than the total price will be less since I had to buy one.

2– 3/4″ x 10 feet copper pipe

1– 1/2″ x 10 feet copper pipe

6–3/4″x3/4″ 90 degree elbows

2–3/4″ copper Tee

4–3/4″x3/4″x1/2″ copper Tee

4–3/4″ end caps

copper pipe cutter

black sharpie

tape measure

E6000 glue (optional, but recommended)

nail polish remover (for cleaning the pipes)

Instructions: Don’t be intimidated to cut copper. It’s SO easy! I actually had my younger son help me out with this project. And he cut the copper! The first thing to do is clean you pipes. You probably have red ink markings on the sides. Take a rag and nail polish remover and just rub it off. Nail polish remover easily takes it off.

Now that you have clean copper pipes, take your 10 foot pipes and measure and mark what you will cut. Here is the breakdown:

  • Take 1 of the 3/4″ diameter copper pipe and measure and mark 5 feet so basically right in the middle of the pipe. Once it is cut you will get 2 x 5 feet 3/4″ diameter copper pipes. These will be for the sides of the clothing rack.
  • Next take the 1/2″ diameter 10 foot pipe. Measure and mark 41″ twice. You will need two 41″ 1/2 diameter pipes. These are the ones that run on the bottom of the clothing rack and will hold up your shoes. You will have extra 1/2″ diameter copper pipes left over. Save it for another project!
  • Then take your other 3/4″ diameter 10 foot copper pipe. First measure 41″ and mark. This will be the bar that goes on the top and holds the clothes. Then measure 8 x 3″ lengths and 4 x 2″ lengths.

Now it’s time to cut! It’s so easy. Take your copper pipe cutter and place over the pipe where the mark is. Tighten the cutter so it is secure. Then rotate the cutter around the pipe clockwise 3 times. Tighten cutter again. Rotates counter clockwise 3 times. Tighten the cutter again. Rotate clockwise 3 times. Tighten. Repeat until the pipe snaps. It’s that easy!

Once you are all done cutting your pipes, this is what you should have! Now you are ready to assemble.

To assemble your DIY copper clothing rack, I would start with the base. I would also take your e6000 and glue these pieces together for a more secure clothing rack. Don’t glue the top sides of the rack; that way you can dissemble the top and the sides for easy storage when it’s not in use.

Your 1/2″ diameter 41″ pipes are the two parts that run on the bottom of the rack where the shoes are placed. Take the copper Tee’s that are 3/4″ x 3/4″x 1/2″ to secure the cross bars. Take your 2″ 3/4 diameter pipes and place them on the one sides of the T. Then place the 3/4″ Tee for the other side and connect the two cross bar together with the secure of 3/4″ Tee. That Tee should be place up and will be where you will place you 5 foot copper pipes. But before you do that, take your 3″ copper pipes and place them on the other side of the Tees and connect your elbows and then finish off the feet with another set of 3″ copper pipes and then your end caps. Make sure all your pipes are secure and pushed in all the way. If you are gluing, let the glue set before you assemble the top.

I’m loving these kate spade fushcia pink heels and bow-tie heels. So fun and festive.

Once all the bottom is assembled of your DIY copper clothing rack, now take your long bar and assemble the sides and the top securing with your last two copper elbows. Grab a helper so the long pipes aren’t hitting you in the head! Add some rubber bottoms to your rack if you have hard wood floors so it doesn’t slide around or scratch the wood. Your copper clothing rack is now ready to be used!

DIY Modern Blanket Ladder

One of the ways to jump into the new year, is to tackle some DIY projects that have been lingering on that “do-be-completed” list.  What better way to start off with the first DIY project of the year than with this DIY modern blanket ladder.  With the cold weather and winter blankets out of the closet, this DIY modern blanket ladder is going to get quite a bit of use before the season ends.  And it is a cute accent to my other home decor.  This DIY modern blanket ladder project is so easy to complete.  Once you get all the supplies, it really only takes about 30 minutes.  And in 30 minutes, you’ll have a new furniture piece to add to your home for under $50.

First thing you want to do is head to Home Depot and pick up the following supplies.  To save time, you could even saw the dowels down to size right at Home Depot before you check out.

5 wooden dowels (3/4″ x 48″)

8 Copper pressure tee (3/4″ for all openings)

tape measure

pencil

hand saw or circular saw

white spray paint

rubber circular pads

The modern blanket ladder is about 5 feet tall and 22″ across.

Step 1: Using your tape measure and pencil, cut with hand saw or circular saw the wooden dowels down to the following measurements:

4×20″, 2×18″, 6×12″ and 2×8″.  You will have a few extra wooden pieces left over.

Step 2: Spray paint your dowels and let it dry completely.  I choose white, but use whatever color you want.  Or stain the dowels to get a weathered wood color.  Or you can even just skip this step and keep it a natural color.

Step 3: Okay so the 20″ dowels are used for the steps of the ladder.  The 18″ dowels are the bottom legs of the ladder.  The 12″ dowels are used between each step.  And the 8″ dowels are used at the top of the ladder.

Step 4: Take the copper pressure tees and then build your ladder, putting each dowel into each opening.  Make sure you push to dowels down so they are secure.

Step: 5: Place your rubber pads on the bottom of the ladder.  Then ENJOY!

Easiest DIY Modern blanket Ladder to make!  Don’t you agree?

DIY Pumpkin Decorating Idea: Cover it with Tissue Paper

DIY Pumpkin Decorating Idea: Cover it with Tissue Paper.  Oh yes!  There are so many fun tissue paper patterns and prints out there that this DIY gives a styrofoam pumpkin a new look.  I made these for Halloween decorations and am still enjoying them through fall and Thanksgiving.  Plaid is everywhere this season.  And perhaps you’ve seen this plaid tissue paper when you go shopping.  It’s my favorite, and I’ve been wanting to use it some way. Then I saw Sincerely, Sara D. ‘s darling pumpkin decorations and knew the plaid tissue paper had a good use.  These pumpkins would be perfect for a Thanksgiving tablescape!

diy pumpkin decorating idea plaid tissue paper

I made my pumpkins with tissue paper a little different from Sara’s and instead of mod podge, I used spray adhesive.  Most craft pumpkins are sold out, so use a halloween craft pumpkin that you might have laying around.  There will be more next year!  Spray your pumpkin, wait until it gets to tack (about 3 minutes) then cover with the tissue paper.  Press it down with our fingers until it is smooth.  Cut any excess paper.  Spray down any tissue that is a fly away.

A New England Christmas with Simple DIY

Christmas this year almost didn’t come!  Pulling out Christmas decorations among moving boxes (yes, we are still getting settled in to this new house) gave me a feeling of bah humbug.  But the kids negotiated with me, and said Santa wouldn’t come to an undecorated house, so we came to an agreement.  Keep. it. simple.  So, I didn’t pull out all of my Christmas decorations and instead pulled out only a few this year.  The ones that add the Christmas glitter and cheer! Our New England Christmas is accented with simple DIY projects that add the perfect detail.

A New England Christmas on a Budget with Simple, DIY decorating ideas | Darling Darleen

For my New England Christmas, I wanted to have a white flock Christmas tree.  Real flocked trees are easily found in Georgia, but you do have to pay a hefty price.  We had flocked trees the last couple of Christmas’s, and they just add a level of elegance to your Christmas decorating.

Well we had a hard time trying to find real, flocked trees here in Connecticut.  So, to save money and time I decided to buy two cans of white flock snow spray for just a few bucks and spray our real balsam fir Christmas tree.  It was a great idea, and so easy to do!  I actually sprayed it right in my living room.  I did cover the floors with a disposable paint cover, and I did pull the tree away from the walls.  But it was very easy to do and to clean up I just wiped it away.  Also, you need to let your tree dry for about 12 hours before putting on ornaments.  I wanted to keep the trees with a light dusting.  I did have enough spray to add more fake snow but liked the look of it with just the dusting.

Candles are such a great way to bring a the holiday ambiance to a room.  Love Anecdote Candles.  They are a favorite.

Another easy, simple DIY project to create a New England Christmas is buy a can of copper spray paint and white pine fir garland or green clippings and seeded eucalyptus and spray them copper!  I saw this easy and budget friendly idea while shopping at Terrain, and loved it!  They spray painted most of their real garland around the store.  I love the results and add the metallic accent real greenery all around the house–in my wreath, garland, Christmas tree and vase arrangements.

I love my thick wool cream throw from Mutze hats.  It is hand knitted and one of my favorite winter home decorations.  I linked a similar version from Serena and Lily.

My Georgia Home Tour

My Georgia Home Tour via Darling Darleen, southern living homes, Atlanta georgia house tour, coffer ceilings, great room, built in bookshelf around fireplace #darlingdarleen #darleenmeier

My Georgia Home Tour

This summer has been a whirlwind of moving, traveling then moving again. I can’t believe how quickly summer has flown but also how much it has dragged on and on. Moving took a lot out of me if I am going to be honest. I never thought it was going to be easy, but this was something else. I’m glad this is all sorted now. A friend of mine is currently in the moving process to a house near little lake, so I thought I would give her some advice, to help make the move a lot easier. Moving is exciting but there are so many different things that need to be considered. As she basically lives on the other side of the world, I was doing some research and recommended she looked into something like ConveyOnline service these suburbs, just so she knows that when it comes to the legal documentation of moving, she doesn’t have to do this alone. It is always great to know that there is someone out there willing to give you a helping hand, especially from people who know what they are doing. This was a really good tip that someone gave me, so now I feel I should offer it to anyone who needs help when it comes to moving. Anyway, we have been unpacking our new house in Connecticut. I finally have my computer up, wifi and a little spot in my new office to work. But everything is still a complete mess, and we are still mostly in boxes, which makes me nostalgia for my home life in Georgia. Moving is the worst on so many levels! One tip I would give if you are moving house, is to make a list of your new local emergency contacts just in case, for example, if you’re moving to Perth you might need a locksmith in Bentley quickly. So since I’m in this sentimental stage I thought I need to give you my Georgia home tour since I haven’t really given the grand tour, just bits and pieces of rooms. I will say when we bought the house six years ago it was not a house I really liked. The whole house was painted yellow inside and there was a lot of brown. Very southern especially with it’s sweeping staircase. But slowly I made it my own. Just before we put it on the market I really loved the home, and we created so many wonderful memories there. We lived right outside Atlanta and had the convenience of a big city but our neighborhood backed up to a little river and a private nature preserve with walking trails. We felt like we had our own little forest in our backyard. I’m excited to give you my Georgia home tour:

Entry Way

The entry way was the selling feature of the home with its grand curved stair case and two story ceilings. I always felt a little embarrassed by its grandiose entrance especially when friends came over but I tried to keep it minimal and welcoming with seating and a basic cow hide rug (which is the best rug for a lot of foot traffic!). I made the DIY entry metal bench, which had storage for shoes and a place where guests could place their bag. Having the piano in the entry way was such a great idea because every time my kids walked past it, which was multiple times a day, they would sit down to play it.

Family Room/Great Room

This was the room where the family hang out most of the time. We watched TV here, played board games, held parties. I really loved how the great room opened up to the kitchen area. These two rooms were our favorites and are missed the most. I pulled all the wooden blinds down and added curtains and made the roman shades (which I still need to do a how-to post). We had the two sofas reupholstered to the current fabrics. They used to be brown and yellow! We added the orb chandelier. Check out how I styled our built-in bookshelf. And check out how to make your own DIY copper planters and DIY copper blanket ladder.

Kitchen

I’ve posted my kitchen frequently through my social media outlets. My kitchen is your typical white builder-grade kitchen. When we first moved in all the handles were dark brass and there was no pendant lights over the island or chandelier over the kitchen table area. We made those changes pretty fast and it brought beautiful visual interest and was a fairly easy update.

My office is right off the entry way so I wanted it to be another inviting room but also functional for my every day needs. I recently posted all about my office studio and the inspiration behind it along with many more photos! Find out more along with resource guide.

Dining Room

This is the room that gets the best morning light! We added wallpaper to the room to add visual interest. We bought the ikat wall paper at a local wallpaper store and I can’t remember what the style or brand! The dining room table is my favorite from Restoration Hardware along with the white pleather chair that have held up so well with children after so many years.

Guest Bedroom

You can read more about my Guest Bedroom, which I posted many of the resources. The gold framed art pictures were an easy watercolor DIY. Our guest bedroom was located on the main level.

Powder Bathroom

You can see the before and after pictures of our powder bathroom. We wallpapered the entire bathroom and I still love that trellis wallpaper! It’s amazing how a few easy updates can drastically change the look of a room even in a bathroom.

Boy’s Bedroom

I just recently posted all about the boy’s bedroom. This was a room I ignored for a while! But slowly the room came together. The boys loved this room. The final decorating piece we added was the pendant light, which I was so sad to part with. Such a fun light! Check out all the resources on the original boy’s bedroom post.

Girl’s Tween Bedroom

Another favorite room that we are sad to part with or at least the wallpaper! We still are so obsessed with that wallpaper and it’s been over 5 years! This was a room I quickly put together shortly after moving into the house. You can find all the resources and additional photos on the original girl’s tween bedroom post!

Master Bedroom

Okay our master bedroom was the VERY last room…or two that we furnished, partially because it was so large and needed a lot of furniture. I did a few DIYs in the room like our dresser (which isn’t pictured) but you can see the before and after of the dresser. Also I lacquered the two tall bamboo mirrors that are beside the bed. The little tub chair was a garage sale find that I reupholstered. I should of done a little more posting on that cute chair because I love it and love how it came out with the complementing solid and print fabrics! You can, however, see the before pictures of the chair. The two tall lamps was a flea market found that my friend found for me. I lacquered the middle section white and then spray painted the bottom and top gold and replaced the shades for new ones. I really wanted to do a few more things to this bedroom so I wouldn’t say it was completed but close to it!

Thanks for coming along my Georgia Home tour! We have loved this home but are excited to change up the new home we are have moved in! Let me know if you have any questions about resources. I will try and answer!

Advent Christmas Calendar Ladder

advent Christmas calendar ladder, advent calendar DIY, advent calendar for kids, Christmas calendar, twelve days of Christmas, Christmas things to do, Christmas activities

Advent Christmas Calendar Ladder

We started the advent Christmas calendar tradition when my babies were, well, babies.  A tradition that began in my own family for as long as I can remember.  So, this is a Christmas tradition that my children love to do every year.  I always try and switch the advent calendar designs around every year to create excitement and newness, but we usually keep the activities the same since many of the activities are traditions!  Last year, I did add Christlike service activities to the daily mix to make the season more selfless and more meaningful. It was wonderful, and I’m doing it again.  So this year I thought it would be perfect to make an advent Christmas calendar ladder.  And you can do the same!  Wait. You don’t have a super, cute modern copper ladder?  No problem.  Here is the DIY for it , and it will take you 30 minutes to put it together, and you will be so happy you made it!

Here are the supplies you need for the Advent Christmas Calendar Ladder

—modern copper ladder

—24 small Kraft bags

—wide ribbon (about 4″)

—paper clips or tiny clothes pins

–fun little ornaments or greenery clippings

—number stamp set and stamp

–Christmas candy or chocolate

–stapler

—24 advent calendar activities

After making your modern ladder, the first thing you want to do for your Advent Christmas Calendar ladder is stamp out the numbers on your tiny Kraft bags up to 24.  Then write your Christmas activities on a little piece of paper or search for a download printable.  Then fill your little bag with candy and decorate the outside with an ornament and greenery.  Secure everything with a clothes pin.  To attach the bags to the ladder, I used a wide ribbon that is stapled to the top crossbar.  Then I took paper clips and attached the little bags to the ribbon.  It’s that easy!

Updating Living Space for Fall

I just packed up some of my coastal, summery home decorations to embrace the cooler months ahead.  By adding a few cozy warm touches to the home makes a big impact for updating a living space for Fall.  Just a few simple items are needed when updating a living space for fall.  I like to keep the colors somewhat natural so when Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas comes around it’s easy to incorporate the holiday decorations.  This year I am loving the touch of navy that I’ve seen around the design world.  So I decided to add navy to my living space to warm up the wintery whites.  I’m feeling like navy should be reclassified as a neutral.  Who’s with me on that??  Anyway, the best way to update living space for fall is with the use of pillows!  It’s simple and inexpensive.  Recently, I took a couple of old pillows and had them reupholstered with inexpensive navy fabric that I found at a discount store.  My upholsterer only charged me $28 per pillow.  Not bad on the price!

I also added a few other pillows to balance off the pillow sizes.  The navy and white quilted pillows on the two sofas are so gorgeous and add a fun pattern to the mix.  Theses quilted pillows are handmade by ModernStitch.sb , and they have a fun collection of beautiful patterned quilted pillows.  When updating living space for Fall using pillows, look for pillows that have texture and heavy fabric like flannel or wool.  Don’t forget to add throws to your copper blanket ladder or over the sofa.

Another way to update the living space for fall, is adding cozy touches to the mantle.  I added a variety of pumpkins to my mantle, and I am loving the simple look.  Some of the pumpkins are from DIYs that I did last year like the fabric pumpkins and tissue paper pumpkins.  These are both an easy and simple craft for a big statement.  I also hung modern wreaths over some of the mirrors I have around the house.  With a simple wreath you can easily had wintery white during the later season.

For my shelves and tabletops, I traded in my coastal shells and coral figurines for white and mercury pumpkins.  It was an easy replacement because the coastal items were also white.  I also added white pumpkins and moss to glass display jars to decorate the end tables and console.

And last but not least I decided to layer my rugs to add warmth and a little bit of color.  The traditional rug ties in the navy hues while still keeping it neutral.  It will be easy to play up the rug with the pinks for the Christmas season.

6 Spring Ways to Freshen Kitchen

The birds are finally chirping and the blossoms are blooming. The cherry blossoms and dogwood trees have flower buds on them. Color and greenery is finally returning to my area. I’m eager to bring bottle up spring and bring it indoors. Everything is so beautiful! Obviously, you can’t actually bring the spring season inside the home, but there are ways to emulate the feeling of spring and spring colors throughout your home and kitchen with decor and colors. I am sharing 6 spring ways to freshen kitchen and revive and restore the drabby natural colors left over from winter. Don’t forget though that a simple way that you can freshen up your house is to make sure that it is clean and tidy as well. If this is something that you know you struggle with then you could easily hire a professional cleaner from somewhere like Sparkle and Shine.

6 Spring Ways to Freshen Kitchen

  1. Bring Pantone Greenery into your kitchen . I love the 2017 Pantone color “Greenery”, and it has spring written all over it! The color trend is big among many retailers this year, so add a pop of the invigorating Greenery in your kitchen through milk glass cake stands, plates, decorative fruit bowls and linens.
  2. Add a houseplant or fresh flowers in your kitchen . I finally found a spot for my new houseplants and copper stands, and they are located right next to my kitchen. I love how alive they make the room feel. And the houseplants also go along with the Pantone Greenery color. Houseplants are a great spring way to freshen up a kitchen. And you can never go wrong with fresh flowers especially spring flowers like tulips, daffodils and daisies. Fresh flowers always bring a smile to the face, and you will enjoy having a little color and life in your kitchen. So if you are thinking that you would like to get some houseplants, but are unsure about how you would look after them, then all you need to do is check out s a cite like Bloomspace who can help you with your decision making.
  3. Adorn the counter or kitchen wall with Artwork or Print. Placing artwork or a fun print with favorite saying in your kitchen is unexpected but clever and a great way to enjoy a little splash of color. Art is a great spring way to freshen up kitchen. It can glam up a space or just put a smile on your face every morning. It doesn’t even just need to be the art that gets changed in the kitchen. You could even take a look at something like this huge range of kitchen wall panels to change things up a bit. It all depends on what you actually want doing to your kitchen.
  4. Buy a new decorative kitchen item. I love buying something small and new for my kitchen each spring. It could be a pedestal fruit bowl or a new set of tea cups or a cake stand. This year I wanted to get matching ceramic measuring cups and measuring spoons. I probably use them everyday, and they are just so pretty to keep them out on display!. Also, they are a part of the Pantone Greenery family color.
  5. Display pretty linens. Liven up your kitchen with clean, fresh linens. It could be dishtowel, tea towel, fabric napkins, tablecloth–anything that has a splash of color or spring colors. Throw away any old rags or spoiled cloths. It’s nice to start off a season with fresh clean towels or linens to add to a table or hang over a towel rack.
  6. Buy pretty hand soap and candles that smell like spring. Bring the smell of spring in your daily hand soap or kitchen candles. After cleaning my kitchen for the night, I love to burn floral candles. Also, washing my hands with floral soap or lemon soap is a favorite for spring!

Those are easy 6 spring ways to freshen kitchen and my favorites ones that I like to incorporate each year. Do you have some tricks to freshen up your kitchen for spring?
