Lucas has had a few milestones this week. We get so excited when he does something new– well, because it just doesn’t happen so often. When Stella was a baby, she was doing stuff new all the time and was walking by the time she was 9.5 months. So, we just thought it was normal and didn’t really get excited. Now, Lucas is about 10.5 months and he finally took his first crawling steps. I was freaking out with excitement! He has been doing the commando crawling for a few month but not up on all fours crawling. And another milestone is that he said “hot” today. He was just copying what his Mama said. Another freak out session. I had to make sure he said it a few times just to make sure it WAS the word “hot”. We are very proud of our little boy. Here is a picture of him standing in his crib–he got up all by himself. Go Luke!
Attention all Scrapbookers–My aunt’s scrapbooking store, Keeping Memories Alive, is having a huge moving sale. Their warehouse is moving to a new location, so to reduce inventory they are offering 30% off MSRP price. Make sure you use coupon code: MOVING.
Check out PBS 4-hour special on “The Mormons”. Two-hours of it airs tonight and the rest airs tomorrow night. It’s a documentary that explores the history and current reality of the Mormons. I’m hoping it portrays Mormons in a good light and clarifies alot of misunderstood hearsay.
Okay, I have to blog about Domino‘s May issue. I get so excited when it arrives in my mailbox, so I have to share. They have an decorating article regarding beds and benches, and the below image has my favorite bench from Wisteria. I have been in love with these inlaid bone benches for a really long time–I even saved up for one. At the time they were priced for $300 so when I went to make my purchase, the price jumped to $549. I was so sad, and then I thought it wasn’t worth it. I hate it when companies do that once they become big and popular! Anyway, I still love the bench, and doesn’t it look so darling at a foot of a bed?
Domino‘s May issue had an article on laundry tips from the owners of The Laundress. There’s a lot of good information of how to keep your clothes looking new–alot that I had no idea about. One tip was skip the bleach (which I use frequently on my whites) because over time it makes fabrics yellow and eats away the fiber. They say brighten whites by soaking them in hot water and white vinegar for at least a half hour.
This is such a pretty kitchen to me. The striking black chandelier and the moody blue cupboards complement each other–very different and unique. But do you know what I like the best? The children’s artwork on the refrigerator. It has inspired me to do the same.
I must admit I love shoes, and my friends Katie and Carla, who were just in town, can attest to that. As we shopped around the city I was on the hunt for some cute silver flats because they are super hot trend this summer and they just look so cute. Anyway I saw a ton of these Sigerson Morrison flipflops, which I love but not going to pay the $230.00 price tag. But of course my good ‘ol company Nine West knocks it off for only $59.00.
I love these dining chairs–they’re modern and different. I especially like them in the green finish, but you can also get them in blue, brown, white or black. I’m sad that they won’t work with my decor though, but they’re fun to look at.
Laughing is contagious! I always seem to laugh when Lucas starts his giggling episodes. Check out the link to hear him laughing.
