Some kind of lighting alternative if there is a power outage. We bought a couple of these battery-operated lanterns a few years ago and use them multiple times throughout the year since we live in an area that has a lot of power breakdowns. Very handy indeed when you want to play cards or read in the dark.

Good idea — Mark has been working on getting all our long-term food storage done (yay!) and now we’re working on this kind of thing.

super good idea! we just got a big kerosene heater and a 55 gallon drum of kerosene for our emergency preparedness stuff. it really makes me feel good to have stuff like that.
