First on my list to get done this year is change out the old 70’s style lighting fixtures in our entry way and upstairs hallway for a more update look. I want to go with some kind of pendant style and here are a few that I like. I think if I choose a chandelier style, it would be good for the entry way and a pendant style for the hallway. I’ve been checking out so many websites that now I’m getting a little confused. Your input would be greatly appreciated. I want to keep with the style of the house, which is very simple and straight lines. Our other fixtures have the brushed silver finish.

ooh, chicky, i need to do the same thing. ours are so retro and brassy. i hate them. but mostly i’m just too lazy to replace them. i need to do that!
ooo…I think the one on the left middle is so you! I also love the star one…how original. Have a blast shopping!
Darleen, do the star. I love it, it’s so pretty and fun and it’s very you.
I personally like the dome egg polished silver one. I have not been inside your home so I can’t say for sure. So it’s all based off personal taste. It’s simple.
Okay, I also like the one on the right side of the star.
I like all of these — you have such excellent taste!
Oh the choices. All very nice.
What kind of home?
What are the actual lighting needs?
Budget?
I love, love, love http://www.restorationhardware.com for ideas and selection. They are pricey, but usually, you should be able to find the style and go from there. Thanks to GOOGLE search.
Good luck.
I’m with everyone, lighting is such a personal choice! My advise would be to not worry TOO much about the style of the house. In my experience (I used to manage a team of interior designers who did our model homes when I worked for a builder), the things you really love end up going together. Does that make sense? Don’t get me wrong, if you have a real rustic house, I wouldn’t throw up a real traditional pendant. But you have more common sense than that! These are all pretty similar in overall style. The other thing I would pay attention to is size. A too small or too big fixture for a space will not look right. Post some pictures of before and after once you make your decision!!!
lighting is huge in a home, i think, and sometimes so overlooked, you are right to know how important it is as far as updating your style.
I love the simple one to the right of the star, love the chandeleir with the crystals and also the one next to it.
Have fun –
These a re all so very gorgeous. I wish I knew one thing about ligting, but I have no advice…other than I love love the chandelier!! And the star…and …
