So, so sad about the death of Heath Ledger and even sadder that his child will be forever affected. I was completely caught off guard and shocked by the news. My girlfriend Heidi called me to tell what was going on–it so happens that she works in the same building where Heath lived. So she gave me the scoop about all the commotion going on right where she works. But I guess why I was so taken back was because there were multiple times Heidi would call me and give me updates about Heath because she would see him so often–what he was wearing, if he had Matilda, what she was wearing, if he came into the store and random things like that. His apartment was one floor above her office. One of Heidi’s coworkers even heard him singing to his daughter one time. Sweet. Anyway, when she called this time it really made me sad. When I saw this picture, I remember Heidi telling me she saw him carrying his daughter this way.
This whole thing has me sad too — now that little girl will have very little memory of her daddy and that’s heartbreaking.
This is just heart breaking. Little girls need their daddy’s. He was way too young.
Coming to work the past two days has been so heartbreaking. The press seems to treat the situation like kids in junior high who want to be the first to tell everyone bad news without any thought on how if affects people. The amount of people just coming by to gawk at the building is also shocking. There is always a group of at least 10 people across the street looking up at his windows. In the building basement storage area there is a message on the chalk board that says “god bless your soul” with a picture of Heath. It feels like the buildings way of saying goodbye. It’s sad when anyone passes so unexpectedly but this seems more personal since I was fortunate to have seen him. So so sad. –heidi

I wanted to post about this- but thought maybe it would seem weird- I don’t know why but I seriously almot cried when I read the news online! I guess I really liked his movies, and feel like he is part of my generation. Plus he was really cute. Soo sad for his daughter and family.
Darleen I remember we just talked about this at enrichment, you told me about Heath, and I told you about Orlando Bloom.
I was so shocked when I read the headlines on aol, I thought it was some kind of joke.
Very sad. The press stinks when it comes to covering such a sad story.
When River Phoenix died, it hit me the same way. Too young!

this was a big shock to me as well…it’s always so sad when a young parent dies.
