We bundled the kids up in their snow gear and headed out to enjoy the day on Fire Island. It’s a little strip of island on the Atlantic side of Long Island. It was beautiful. Cold, but beautiful. Miles and miles of soft sandy beach. After spending the day there, we headed to the Pottery Barn Outlet in search for a big bed for Lucas. I was actually really annoyed. Have you noticed how outlet prices are now practically retail prices? You can actually get better deals at the retail store than the outlet. We did find a bed, but it wasn’t a screaming deal so we passed. I did buy some new table linens though–60% off.

I agree about outlet pricing! When we first moved here I went to the Woodbury Outlets several times, but found as you did that the prices were the same as retail. Plus, with the recession, stores are desperate so they are offering good deals without going outlet shopping. Cute, cold pictures too!

And Potterybarn is the worst. The trick is to buy the coupon book and there is a 20% off coupon for potterybarn. It helps.

It looks beautiful. I’ll have to add it to my list of places to go this summer!

I just went to our potterybarn outlet over the weekend too… AND to look for twin beds and bedding. Nothing! None of the prices sounded like a bargain to me. I totally agree with you. Let me know if you find a bed for a great price. I need two! Can you believe both the girls are still in little beds?! Kind of sad.
