I need some references to some books I can read over the summer. Summer is the time I read. I know it’s kind of pathetic that I read during season. But that usually when I find a little extra time. I’ll looking for a read that immediately captures and holds the attention. And of course is REALLY good. I love to read, but often I get distracted. And many times I start a book, but never finish it. Or it takes me so long to complete. Any book suggestions?

I just started a book club with some friends and the first book that we read was “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak. It was so good, a bit deep. It’s actually a young adult book but it was awsome. Check it out!
ditto on Book Thief, our group just read “Still Alice” by Lisa Genova, very interesting about early onset alzheimers, enjoyed “The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox” by Maggie O’Farrell, all-time fav is still “These is My Words” by Nancy Turner – yay for reading!
Oooooh, yes, I have to agree about The Book Thief, it was amazing. The Time Traveler’s Wife is great too. And I also loved The Shadow of The Wind.
I bought a stack of books right before the baby was born thinking I would have plenty of time at home… what was I thinking? I haven’t touched a one.
I enjoyed “A Thousand Splendid Suns” but it wasn’t a light little read. A bit deep and heartwrenching. Still loved it.
I thought Book Thief was good BUT, I have a book for you that I just finished. Lucia, Lucia by Adriana Trigiani. It takes place in NYC back in the 50’s. While I was reading it I thought of you many times. Check it out…I know you’ll like it. It was a good fast read for me.

What about an oldie but goodie. I loved reading Jane Eyre. I might even reread that one in a year or so. Loved it!
I definietly recommend the glass castle by jeanette walls! a quick, heart-warming, memoir! sweet & funny. Also running with scissors by augusten burroughs. both quick, fun reads!
