I cut his summer shaggy hair the night before and picked out his outfit. I talked to him face to face about wearing his new sneakers. In preschool you can’t go outside and play without wearing sneakers. He refused–flipflops was his choice even though there was a fall crisp in the air. Okay I thought. I’ll let his teacher deal with that issue as I packed his sneakers in his backpack. He marched right into his class, scanned the room and then he nods and tells me that Stella use to go there. He then races over to the toy section and pulls out all trucks and cars. His vroom-vrooms caught the attention of all the other little boys in his class and they joined in his fun. And that was the perfect time for me to slip out.

Had the same talk with Nate, can't get him out of his crocs.

They grow up so fast. And (as you already know) he'll listen much differently when his teacher tells him about the shoes. You're a smart mama!

Of course he'd spot the trucks right away. I have a treat for him when we come up next week.

I can't believe he is in preschool, such a big boy.

We put the crocs in the closet out of reach since the have a big issue with them at preschool. It took two weeks but Reed is ok with his tennis shoes now.

He looks so sweet and clean in this photo. Not surprised he went for the trucks. Hope he had fun in his new school.
