This time around I’m making a huge change in my babycare skills and switching my brand of conventional disposable diapers over to eco-friendly diapers. This is what happens when you read up on the chemicals and plastics used in disposable diapers, and the long-term harm they can have to your baby. Fingers crossed that my other three children will be okay (*wink*). Like most moms, I always like to try and give the best to my children and protect them from any harm so it’s worth a try to me.
I’m not expert in eco-friendly diapers and have only done minimal research on what is the best. But I just bought a newborn size of Nature Babycare biodigradable diapers–recommended by a friend. I read that there are no plastics, dioxins or gel absorbents and use corn-base materials. I’ll keep you posted on how they work!

we use a combination of fuzzi bunz and bum genius. bum genuis came out with a 4.0 brand that seems just like fuzzi bunz. i think my fuzzi bunz leak more than the bum genius brand, but we are still working on it.

I used a cloth diaper service 🙂 I think it was called "Tidy Diapers" out of Norwalk….it worked great. I used the velcro wraps that are similar to the ones you posted on your blog, so there were no pins to worry about. I'll try to remember what they were…they were great wraps and no leakage! I can't wait to meet the newest Meier! Good luck with everything~ XOXO ~Mary~

I cloth diaper. I do it lazy style, so it's not much more work than doing regular laundry. I can tell you my routine if you're interested. And the diapers I got are about half what the name brands cost and work just as well (my friend Laura got both name brands and this type and turns out the cheapies are just as good). Ebay is cool. Let me know if you want me to send you a link to the exact type. (Oh, this is Tess btw. 🙂

We used the seventh gen ones with Lil, which are great, never had a problem with leaking and we signed up for auto-delivery at amazon so the price was really good. Didn't like the Nature Babycare ones much – the stick part is weird and I didn't like the absorption. I keep telling Chris we're going cloth if we have another baby so he said he won't be changing any diapers (we'll probably end up using seventh gen. for church and outings). Good luck!

Such good tips! I WISH we had a cloth diaper service in our neck of the woods but alas we are in the woods…so I think we will try Seventh Generation or Nature Babycare. Not sure which one yet though.

I have been using Bum Genius since my son was three months old. (I had to get used to a baby before I started complicating the diaper routine! ;o) this is my first). I love them. I love the fact that they rarely get diaper rash. He had a bad case of it from the disposables used at daycare, and with the cloth used at home, it was gone sooner than later. Good luck!

Hi,
Check out our line of eco friendly baby products! http://www.organicbabychick.com/
Our boutique only carries all natural, organic, and eco-friendly baby products. When we had our daughter, I instinctively felt the overwhelming concern for her well-being and overall health. With that concern came a lot of research into eco-friendly cribs made with natural wood, organic crib bedding, natural baby clothing, and all natural baby bath products; we started going green! That’s when we decided we wanted to offer like minded parents a place where they could shop with peace of mind for their precious babies.
I hope you like our stuff!
