Honestly…I don’t have some amazing birth story. Wish I did.
No, all my deliveries (besides my first) have been scheduled, even down to the time. It really lessens the excitement of having a new baby. This is one of the reasons why we didn’t find out the sex of our third child. To be surprised.
Yes, I have C-sections. And I just had my fourth. Recovery has been worst than the other three. Pain. I thought number three C-section was painful. This one is much worse. But this is what I have to go through to have children. Not sure why, considering all my sisters and mother have child-bearing bodies.
After my first child I swore I’d never have another baby. Even to this day it was such a terrible experience for me. I tell people that it was the closest thing to death. I labored for 48 hours, pushed for 3.5 hours with no anesthesia and then it ended up in an emergency C-section. I can sympathize for women who have died during labor. Thank goodness I live during a time of modern medicine.
Of course the end result makes all the pain worth it. For that I am blessed. I feel so blessed to have my little Miss Chloe and my other three children. They make me so happy and bring so much joy into my life. But seriously…thank goodness we have decided to make this our last.

I'm with you — I always wished I was someone who birthed babies easily and it just didn't happen that way for me. Take things easy (I'm a C-sec mama too) and let people help you a lot.

Stella looks very efficient holding the baby. She's going to be a big help. Lucas' hold looks a little more precarious… But he's certainly wearing a big smile!

I wish I was there to help. I know you can do it. THe healing part is the worst. And I always had it easy. But I think it is harder with each child and the older you get. Try and take it easy. And be patient with your body.

Ah, I feel your pain girl! Those C-sections have a way of putting a . at the end of child bearing:) I do hope your healing is endured patiently and full of lots and lots of little angels to help you. Love to you and your family. She is so darling, can't wait to see her all decked out in your cute styles.

What an ANGEL she is! I'm sorry you have to endure through the recovery of a c-section… what a blessing it will be to have your mother there to help you! I love the pictures of your kids holding chloe! They look so content! What a happy Christmas this must be for all of you!

Darlene – I so understand the C-section pain. And yes – my 3rd (and final one) has definitely been my hardest for pain and recovery. I'm wondering if it's an age thing – or the fact that by this point you have so many other children you must take care of while you recover. Either way – I'm thinking about you and think little Chloe is still so beautiful!
