Happy June 1st! We are seeing the warmer weather roll in, but for the most part we are still getting those spring temperatures and showers. Since the lockdown our weekends have been wide open, so we have been going on long drives and trying to explore (what we can) in the state of Connecticut. We adventured out a few weeks ago and it was raining and I’m so glad I have light-weight rain jackets that were rolled up and stored in the black of the car. Many of these spring rain jackets are on sale because we are now heading into summer. I’ve listed below some of the best spring rain jackets. The day might of been drizzy and a little windy, but it was perfect for social distancing! No one was out, so we felt like we had the estate grounds to ourselves!
We recently went and explored Topsmead State Forest, which is located in the tiny town of Litchfield, Connecticut. There is a gorgeous estate home that was built in 1929, and its so beautiful walking around it. The home is an example of a Tudor Revival country estate house. There are flower gardens around the house. They hadn’t bloomed when we were there, but I definitely want to go back when they do. I hear it is beautiful. Surrounding the house are open fields and then horse trails that meanders through the forest. Make sure to check the travel section on my site to see other adventures we’ve been going on.
