Bathroom Trends to Watch for This Year
The bathroom is no longer just a utilitarian space—it has become a personal sanctuary for relaxation, self-care, and style. Being a real estate agent in one of the country’s top luxury markets, I have seen and walked through many beautiful homes. Walking through these beautiful homes that many are either updated or new build, I definitely take a lot of mental notes of what home trends I see. I’ve noticed quite a few bathroom design trends that are all about making bold statements while creating a harmonious, spa-like retreat. If you are thinking about renovating a bathroom this year, take a look at my assessment of the top 2025 bathroom trends, and see how they can elevate your space.

The photos I’m sharing are from the 2024 St. George Utah Parade of Homes. I walked through so many homes that I can’t remember who designed what, but all the homes were so gorgeous. Take a peek with the link to see some of the homes and the credits for the builders and designers. With that let’s jump into my 2025 Bathroom Trends:
1. Thick Stone Countertops
Thick stone countertops are making waves for their bold, luxurious appearance. Materials like marble, quartzite, and granite add durability and opulence to the space.
Design Tip: Opt for a waterfall edge design to showcase the stone’s natural beauty and craftsmanship.
2. Under Vanity Cabinet Lights
Under-cabinet lighting is as practical as it is beautiful. This subtle illumination adds a touch of luxury and provides gentle lighting during nighttime visits.
Design Tip: Use LED strips for energy efficiency and a clean aesthetic.
3. Tile Everywhere
Tiles have transcended their traditional roles on floors and shower walls. This year, think beyond boundaries—tiles are now covering ceilings, vanity backsplashes, and even entire walls for a cohesive, textured look. Choose from glossy finishes for a sleek effect or matte textures for a more understated vibe.
Design Tip: Use the same tile throughout the bathroom to create a seamless, luxurious feel.
4. Wavy Mirrors
Goodbye, traditional rectangles and ovals—wavy mirrors are taking center stage! These organically shaped mirrors add a playful yet elegant touch to any bathroom. Whether framed or frameless, their undulating silhouettes soften the room’s aesthetic, making them perfect for those who want to blend functionality with artistry.
Design Tip: Pair a wavy mirror with a minimalist vanity to let the mirror shine as the focal point.
5. Sink Bowl Vanity
Sink bowl vanities are a perfect blend of classic elegance and modern design. These elevated sinks sit atop the counter, creating a sculptural focal point.
Design Tip: Pair a sink bowl with a thick stone countertop to achieve a dramatic and cohesive look.
6. Patterned Tile
For those who crave personality, patterned tiles are the perfect choice. From intricate Moroccan-inspired designs to bold geometric shapes, patterned tiles add depth and character to any space.
Design Tip: Use patterned tiles as an accent, such as in a shower niche or floor, to balance boldness with simplicity.
7. Tall Mirrors
Tall mirrors are making a splash in bathroom design, emphasizing verticality and making spaces feel larger. They’re particularly impactful in smaller bathrooms, where they draw the eye upward and create the illusion of height.
Design Tip: Pair a tall mirror with dramatic lighting to enhance its effect and amplify brightness.
8. Dramatic Lighting
Lighting is more than a functional necessity—it’s a design statement. This year, dramatic lighting fixtures such as oversized pendants, chandeliers, and wall sconces are taking bathrooms to new heights.
Design Tip: Layer lighting by combining task lighting (e.g., around the mirror) with ambient fixtures to create a warm, inviting atmosphere.
9. Hanging Pendant Lights
Hanging pendant lights are not just for the kitchen! We are seeing them in bathrooms to illuminate the vanity. They hang just a little below a tall mirror and light the sink area perfectly.
Design Tip: Pendant lights pair well with tall mirrors. It will balance the height of the mirror by bringing light from above down.
This year’s bathroom trends emphasize a blend of creativity, functionality, and luxury. By incorporating elements like wavy mirrors, patterned tiles, and dramatic lighting, you can transform your bathroom into a personalized retreat. Whether you’re planning a full renovation or a quick refresh, these trends will help you create a space that’s both on-trend and timeless.
